This juice has all the perfect ingredients to jump-start my day with fresh flavors, acid neutralizer, anti-inflammatory and diuretic properties.
You will need a juicer for this one. It also requires some prepping time with cleaning and chopping all vegetables. This process can be simplified if you prep in advance and have all things ready in the fridge.
- 2 whole cucumber
- 1 head of celery
- 1 bunch of kale
- 1 lemon
- big hunk of ginger
- 1 inch turmeric root
- handful of parsley
- 1 small green apple
optional: use 1 small beet, it is one major liver detoxifier, decreases inflammation and heals the liver. I would usually add a beet to an afternoon juice, or at least not to have it too early in the morning on an empty stomach. Reason? simply because I try to have less sugar in the morning before having anything else in my tummy. (Read sugar and cancer blog)
Pass them all through the juicer, enjoy the process. To make it a more pleasant experience, pour over a wine glass and spend the time outdoors. Take off your shoes and feel the grass, the concrete, mother earth that is supporting you. And give thanks to what you are about to drink, your cells, your body! 🙂
