watermelon basil lemonade 1

Whoaa!!! this is a super easy refreshing drink to make during these hot summer days. Not only it is tasty but you also get the hydration and some nutritional benefits from the watermelon and basil.

Watermelon 🍉 is high in vitamin C (super antioxidant), it also has lycopene (another antioxidant) to combat free radicals.  Because of its high water content, 92% water and full of electrolytes, it contributes to hydration (so needed for this hot summer 🌞💦)

Basil 🌱 is also rich with antioxidants and help reduce inflammation. To bring all the freshness and enhance the flavors I added the juice of 1/2 lemon 🍋

Ingredients (makes 2 glasses)

  • 3 cups watermelon (cut out into chunks)
  • 2-3 basil leaves
  • juice of 1/2 lemon
  • ice (optional)

Put all the ingredients in the blender and that’s it!
